Wingard Creative + Citrus Cel = One Rad Program Design

Design donated for the good of the community

Wingard Creative focuses on the community and looks for ways to get involved. We say it right in the masthead:

Wingard Creative is dedicated to improving the Jacksonville community through graphic design, web development and printing.

So, it was natural for us to jump at the chance to design and print the 2010 Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival program. We approached Shane Douberly, festival organizer, to pitch our idea. In exchange for a back page ad, we would design the 24 page program and print a 1,000 copies. He gave us creative control over everything but the cover and interior ads. Caitlin took control of the project and did an awesome job with the design. The program is filled with intricate details that highlight the festival branding.

Proofing the final draft of the program got us more and more excited about the event. As a community, we’re so lucky to have an event like this in our city. Here are some of the details:

The Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival (Citrus Cel) celebrates animation as a cultural and commercial medium with three days of screenings, parties and panels in Jacksonville, Florida. Citrus Cel will act as a hub for students and professionals from the fields of animation, design, illustration, and film, as well as add to the growing cultural landscape of festivals and events in Northeast Florida.

There will also be a juried art show that will run the length of the festival. On display for the April Art Walk at 111 E. Bay Street, as well as during the scheduled festival days, the accompanying Juried Art Show will revolve around the theme of “storytelling,” showcasing illustrative works in:

• Concept design
• Character design
• Storyboards
• Graphic novels
• Children’s books
• General (narrative form)

Citrus Cel takes place from April 9th to 11th in 5 Points and Downtown Jacksonville
